Happy New Year
Reflecting on 2023 and looking forward to 2024. Just taking a moment to take it all in and count my blessings.

I’m a little late with this post but……Happy New Year. Hope everyone’s 2024 is off to a good start.

I thought I would take a few minutes to reflect on 2023.  What a year it was for me. As I look back I am unbelievably grateful for the outpouring of support I have received over the past year. The love and encouragement from my friends and family, especially my wonderful husband, was overwhelming. First,  the launch party which by the way was the best. Everyone who took time out to come, thank you. Second, a book signing in my home town. That was something I could only have dreamed of. I’ve wanted to be a writer since I was a little girl and that felt like coming full circle. And of course, the book itself, which did make the Amazon best selling new release list, was unexpected and I am in awe. Writing it was such a labor of love and I am grateful to have had the chance to tell my story. Suffice it to say, it was an amazing year.

It all happened so fast. One day I’m telling stories about my dad and trying to hold it together and the next second I am writing it all down, the good and the bad. I will forever be grateful for the friend and publisher who encouraged me to do this.

I have had so many people ask me if this book will help them navigate their own journey. The answer is I don’t know. If you’re looking for science then no, there is no medicine or science in the book, just some overwhelming statistics. If you want to know that it’s ok to not be ok and to laugh in some of the worst possible moments life has to offer, then absolutely yes.

Life can be awesome and beautiful and sad and tragic, sometimes all at once. What I hope for all of you going through this is that you find hope, that you have support and that somewhere in the middle of the chaos you find laughter.

Wishing you all a very blessed 2024…….personally I am excited about what this year will bring.

Joy Comes in the Morning

Even on the darkest day you can find something to be thankful for. Sometimes it’s in those moments when you realize how blessed you actually are.

30 Years and Counting

It’s not always sunshine and rainbows, it’s not easy, but we wake up everyday and decide to like each other. We laugh at each other, ourselves and the world around us and somehow it just works.

It Runs in the Family

I have been on this Alzheimer’s journey with my family off and on since I was 16 years old. My prayer is that our family’s journey on this bumpy road ends with me, that a cure is around the corner and my children won’t have to continue walking this path.
